..it carries the tracks of the ancient people of this land…
We invite you to join us, marking the special times of this next year by walking in the footsteps of our ancestors, on this, the oldest known path…
For this Winter Solstice we are celebrating and connecting to the rebirth of the light during the time of darkness and gestation.
We are inspired to start this series of walks towards Avebury with the section that leads us to the Uffington White Horse (the oldest chalk figure in England – also referred to by some as a dragon) and the Waylands Smithy – a 5000 year old stone age longbarrow and sacred site for Wayland the god of smithing: Gather from 8.30am on Wednesday 21st December at Letcombe Bassett village hall
